How to set up your automated SMS messages?

Check out our practical guide on how to set up your automated SMS messages.

In this tutorial, we will learn how to set up your automated SMS messages on the platform. You will discover how to disable certain features to simplify communication with your clients while adhering to legal obligations for marketing campaigns.

Step 1: Access SMS Settings

  1. Log in to your CRM.
  2. Navigate to the phone numbers section:
    1. Click on "Settings."
    2. Select "Phone Number".
  3. Access Advanced Settings:
    1. Click on "Advanced Settings".

Step 2: Configure SMS messages

  1. Navigate to the "SMS Compliance" section:
    1. Find the "SMS Compliance" tab in the advanced settings.
  2. Disable certain options:
    1. You will see several options related to SMS compliance.
    2. For direct (non-marketing) communications with clients, disable the options that automatically add an unsubscribe message. This means that when you send a first SMS to a client, they will not automatically receive a message asking them to click "stop" to unsubscribe.

Important: If you are using the number for marketing campaigns, do not disable these options. The law requires you to include an option for recipients to unsubscribe from campaign messages.

Step 3: Manage SMS campaigns

  1. For SMS campaigns:
    1. Ensure that the unsubscribe options remain enabled.
      1. This is legally required to allow recipients to easily opt out of your marketing campaigns.
  1. Create a dedicated number for campaigns (recommended):
    1. If you are sending automated messages to a large number of people who are not necessarily your regular contacts, it is advisable to use a separate number for these campaigns to comply with regulations and avoid interference with direct communications.

Step 4: Review and Update

  1. Review your settings:
    1. Ensure that the changes have been correctly applied by checking the settings of your phone number.
    2. Test message sending to confirm that the settings are working as expected.
  1. Update your processes:
    1. If you make changes, be sure to update your processes and inform your team of the new configurations.

By following these steps, you ensure that your SMS messages are appropriately configured for your specific needs, whether for direct communication or marketing campaigns. Always make sure to comply with legal SMS requirements to avoid any compliance issues.
